What is the Difference Between RXT-6200, RXT-6200+ and 2nd Generation 100G Test modules?

The first generation of RXT-6200 modules was introduced in 2018. It was followed by hardware improvements in 2020 and referred as RXT-6200+ or RXT-6200 2nd Generation.

The RXT-6200 100G Multi-Service Test Module was introduced in 2018 (1st Generation). Its hardware capabilities were later improved in 2020 and it was referred as RXT-6200+ or 2nd Generation. That is "+" and "2nd Gen" refer to the same hardware version.

First Generation RXT-6200 hardware is identified with serial number prefix TSN on its back label, about menu, Web Access page and VeExpress asset management. This version was manufactured from March 2018 until March 2020. New clock-related features or advanced transceiver voltage management may not be supported by this hardware.

Second Generation RXT-6200 hardware (P/N: Z07-22-138P), also known as RXT-6200+, is identified with serial number prefix TSY. This version entered production since April 2020. It includes extra temperature monitoring, independent transceiver voltage control and current monitoring, added two Clock Output ports (SMA), as well as improved internal clocking hardware. Added support for voltage swing during transceiver tests, SyncE and PTP.

Compatibility: Although the first generation is no longer in production and out of warranty, both versions are still supported by the same software release package (same software version). The only restriction is that some newer features and function cannot be added to the older hardware.
