Test Set's Wi-Fi Not Working or Not Detecting/Connecting to Access Point (AP) or Smartphone Hot Spot?

Sometimes users may insert the Bluetooth USB transceiver instead of the Wi-Fi one. Check the USB dongle type.

For VeEX test sets using (external) pluggable USB dongles for their Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth connectivity, there is the possibility of grabbing the wrong USB pluggable (e.g., Bluetooth or keyboard/mouse) transceiver and inserting it into the test set, thinking it is the Wi-Fi one. Please double check the USB dongle being used. Modern USB dongles are very small, so there is not much room for information to be printed on them and this may be a source of confusion.

If there is a confusion with the Bluetooth stick, the test set won't be able to run the Access Point (AP) Scan and no hot spots will be displayed.

Micro USB dongle

To minimize the occurrence of such issues, VeEX Inc. offers the option of a combined 2-in-1 wireless Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth 4.0 USB transceiver, in a compact N150 form factor.

Make sure the USB Wi-Fi stick/dongle is the one supplied by VeEX, since there could be some compatibility issues with different vendors and the required drivers.

Once confirmed that the correct Wi-Fi USB transceiver is being used, you may also try removing it and reinstalling it on a different USB port, then reboot the test set and try again.
