Always report Stolen or Lost equipment to VeEX, so we can flag them. We also avise not to purchase VeEX test sets from secondary, gray or black markets (we may not provide any support for those instruments).
We encourage our customers and users to use the Contact Us form, selecting Customer Service/Tech Support, to notify us of stolen, lost or found test equipment (Please include serial number, company name and contact information). Although we may not be able to help in the recovery of lost or stolen assets, we will flag the equipment in our databases and, in certain cases, lock them or limit their functionality. Warranty will also be voided if resold on gray or black markets, or secondary online marketplaces.
Our Customer Support team can identify blacklisted units when new (unsuspected) owners call in or contact us with questions. So, we encourage our rightful owners/customers to contact customercare@veexinc.com to report lost or stolen property, as a way to disincentivize the black/gray market of VeEX products.
Once reported, the equipment would no longer receive any support or repairs, and we may notify the original owner of any information we gather about its whereabouts. However, we won't engage directly in any investigative or recovery efforts. We will cooperate with law enforcement authorities if requested.
From time to time, we may also scan popular online marketplaces, looking for sellers advertising VeEX products, search for certain markings and try to identify their origins.
Warning! The purchase of VeEX test equipment from unauthorized resellers, secondary markets, gray markets or black markets is highly discouraged. Not just due to the legal risk of buying stolen goods or damaged (discarded) equipment, but also the risk of buying tampered equipment that could compromise cybersecurity at your organization.
Customers using our R-Server asset management ecosystem to manage their test sets fleet, can take advantage of its theft-deterrent features by directly flagging stolen, lost and discarded equipment. They can also set a "time bomb" to disable the test equipment if it fails to connect to the server within a defined period.
Some test sets can also be equipped with certain theft-deterrent options, like the Boop Up PIN Code Lock, which requires a six-digit PIN to start the instrument. Only the original owner or VeEX can reset it. Check if the 499-05-876 license is enabled in >Utilities >Settings >About >Software Licenses.
