VeEX Products' Materials Safety Statement (REACH/OSHA)

VeEX provides the following general material safety data statements (SDS/PSDS/MSDS) to fulfill common requests for "Product Safety Data Sheet" or "Article Information Sheet" from customers

Important Regulatory Note: Per our understanding, for electrical/electronic hardware telecom equipment, such as the instruments in reference, an SDS/MSDS is generally not legally required under EU CLP, REACH or OSHA regulations because the product is an "article" rather than a releasable hazardous chemical substance or mixture. However, the following statements are provided to fulfill requests for "Product Safety Data Sheet" or "Article Information Sheet", in REACH Annex II SDS format, from European customers, telecom operators, utilities, and procurement departments.

For the United States market, compliance aligns with the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200)

No hazardous substances are intentionally released during normal use. VeEX hardware does not contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) on the ECHA Candidate List in concentrations above 0.1% by weight. VeEX designs its components to respect these thresholds to maintain commercial distribution rights in the EU.

4. First Aid Measures

4.1 Inhalation

Not applicable during normal use.

4.2 Skin Contact

No hazard expected.

If exposed to battery electrolyte from damaged battery:

  • Wash affected area with water.

  • Seek medical attention if irritation occurs.

4.3 Eye Contact

If battery electrolyte contacts eyes:

  • Flush continuously with water.

  • Seek immediate medical attention.

4.4 Ingestion

Not anticipated.

Obtain medical attention if battery contents are swallowed.

Damaged lithium-ion and Lithium-Polymer batteries may release:

6. Accidental Release Measures

Under normal product operation it presents no spill hazard.

If battery is damaged:

  1. Isolate area.

  2. Avoid skin or eye contact.

  3. Collect damaged materials using appropriate PPE.

  4. Dispose according to local regulations.

7. Handling and Storage

7.1 Handling

  • Use as intended. (Only with the AC/DC charger and accessories supplied or recommended by VeEX.)

  • Do not disassemble.

  • Do not short battery terminals.

  • Protect optical connectors from contamination.

  • Avoid exposure to excessive heat.

  • Avoid strong impacts, vibrations and shocks.

  • Do not puncture, compress or crack.

  • Within specified operating and storage temperatures from official product documentation

Electronic assemblies should not be released into the environment.

Dispose through approved recycling channels, according to local standards, regulations and ordinances.

15.3 REACH

These business-to-business products do not contain any SVHC above 0.1% by weight. Per REACH Article 33.1 a declaration should only be maintained if any SVHCs above reporting thresholds are present.

VeEX ensures that any monitored Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) on the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) candidate list do not exceed the legal threshold of 0.1% weight by weight (w/w) in any component, or are otherwise covered by permitted electronic manufacturing exemptions.

15.4 RoHS

VeEX conforms to the restriction of toxic materials—such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium—to minimize environmental contamination and prevent hazardous occupational exposure during production. Learn more via the official VeEX RoHS Compliance Portal.

15.5 WEEE

Electronic equipment must not be discarded with standard municipal waste. VeEX requests that users return end-of-life hardware to local offices, authorized distributors, partners or accredited service centers for formal, environmentally safe recycling.
