How to Reset a VeEX Test Set to Its Factory Default Settings?

In certain cases, a VeEX test set may need to be reset to its factory default settings. Whether it is for troubleshooting purposes or because you are receiving it from another user who may have made some unknown configuration changes, you can try the Format storage function to start with a clean slate.

Sometimes, a VeEX test set may need to be reset to its factory default settings. Whether it is for troubleshooting purposes (test set is not behaving as expected) or because you are receiving it from another user who may have made some unknown configuration changes that could affect your tests, you can try the Format storage function to start with a clean slate.

The location of the storage Format function (button) varies by test platform. Refer to the specific user manual or quick guide for your instrument. Typical locations include:

  • >Utilities >Files >Manage > Format
  • >System Utility >About >Storage >Format

On certain instruments, the Format function not only removes all custom settings and configurations, it may also erase any stored test profiles, test results, screenshots, and protocol captures. Before proceeding, review the Warning message shown on the storage information and management screen. VeEX strongly recommends using the “To USB” function to create a backup prior to performing the reset.

For certain products, reinstalling or installing a new platform software version may also reformat the internal storage and clear all the settings, back to factory default.
