How to Export, Backup and Restore Test Results and Test Profiles Stored in the Test Set?

Certain VeEX products clear their storage when their platform software is updated, so the use of the Backup (To USB) and Restore function is recommended. They are also useful to distribute test profiles among an instrument fleet.

Turn the test set ON, insert a FAT32 memory stick, then depending on the test set:

  • Go to >image-png-Jun-20-2022-11-37-58-90-PM System Tools >Files >Saved

  • Close the Test Mode Selection menu, then select the >Results & Files tab.

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the System menu, tap on the image-png-Sep-12-2024-10-47-47-8697-PM Files folder icon, then touch and hold on file names area until the actions menu appears.

Backup / Export

  • To make a Backup of all the stored data, use the "select all" check box on the file table header to mark all the stored files. Then tap on the Share files icon+Copy files to attached USB memory stick or image-png-Jan-30-2023-11-02-18-3532-PM or To USB button to start the export process.

  • To Export specific test profiles, to be transferred to other test sets, type on the Type header to sort by file type, navigate through the pages to identify the Profiles, select the ones to export and then tap on the Copy files to attached USB memory stick or image-png-Jan-30-2023-11-02-18-3532-PM or To USB button or icon.

This procedure can be used to export test results, test profiles (configurations), screenshots, protocol captures (PCAP), and other test related files. For test sets with capacitive touch screen, make sure to select each of the different file types (Results, PCAPs, Profiles, Screens) and export them individually.

Restore

  • To Restore the files, insert the USB memory stick, go to the Files screen and tap on the Load files from USB memory stick icon or image-png-Mar-14-2023-11-55-23-8967-PM or From USB button or icon.

The full backup is recommended before performing software upgrades, so files can be restored after the latest software version has been installed.
